“After initial difficulties pulling the filter unit out of the housing on the first attempt (I got help from my neighbor), I am now on a trip in a national park in Costa Rica, and the bottle is exactly what I need here! Single-use plastic bottles are prohibited in the parks! Refilling is now possible without any problems!”

“I am completely satisfied with the filter! It has already accompanied me through Finland and on some routes through Germany. Filtering is surprisingly easy, and the filtered water is definitely drinkable! However, a slight aquatic taste always remains; this is only really pungent in standing waters with a lot of algae and suspended solids.”

“The lettering was no longer nice after just one week of use (see photos). By now (2 weeks in Madeira) it is no longer visible at all. The bottle is also very prone to scratches and the "rubber" behind the lid has small cracks. I really expected more for the price. I only drank from sources 3 times and had no problems with the water. The purpose was at least fulfilled.”

Why is the XL range being discontinued?
The XL series was for very specific use cases (multi-day tours with high water consumption). Demand is concentrated on the 500 ml format. We are consolidating to the standard line and reducing SKUs.
Will the XL replacement filter remain available?
Yes – existing customers will continue to receive XL replacement filters as long as we have XL filters in stock. Promised for at least the next season. After that, we will check with the remaining XL buyers.
Should I buy an XL as well?
Honest answer: Only if you really need the XL format (very long tours, less refilling). Otherwise, we recommend the standard line (500 ml) – which will last you a long time.
What about Bundles XL?
Also discontinued. As long as supplies last, Explorer XL and Adventurer XL remain available. Pioneer XL Cross-Mix has already been discontinued.
