Why most filters let viruses through. The Squeeze doesn't.
Almost every water filter sifts. A sieve only retains what is too large to pass through. Viruses are too small, up to eight times smaller than the pores. They pass through as if no filter were present. The Squeeze therefore has two barriers instead of one. The first binds: electrically charged fibers attract and hold viruses, even if they would long since pass through any pore. Not trapping, but attracting, which is why size doesn't matter. The second stage sifts: a hollow fiber membrane with 0.2 µm retains bacteria, protozoa, microplastics, and particles.

Does the Squeeze really filter viruses?

How soon can I drink with it?

How long does the filter element last?
Up to 500 liters. This is the maximum value under optimal conditions: The cloudier or more contaminated the water, the faster the filter clogs. You'll know it's the end when hardly any water passes through, despite cleaning.
Is there a replacement filter?
Yes. The replacement filter element fits 500 ml and 1 liter, after which the pouch will filter up to 500 liters again. To the Squeeze Replacement Filter
Why does water overflow when the filter is pressed in?
This is usually due to the first use: Before the first use, perform two complete filtering cycles and discard the water. Also, check that the filter element is screwed on tightly and straight. If you let some air escape when pressing before you squeeze, everything will remain sealed.
Can I filter cloudy water?
You can filter clear to slightly cloudy water directly. For water with a high sediment content, pre-filter with a cloth to preserve capacity.
Does the filtered water taste funny?
The most common feedback we read: It just tastes like water, even if the source water was cloudy and is crystal clear afterwards. Try it out at a stream before you need it, then you'll know your device.
How do I pack the Squeeze in my backpack?
Empty and dry, you roll up the bag. In that state, it fits into a jacket pocket or a side compartment. The only important thing is that it was air-dried beforehand.
What is not filtered?
Dissolved substances like nitrates and salt. Therefore: only use fresh water and avoid bodies of water that are close to shipping traffic, sewage treatment plants or intensive agriculture. Flowing waters are preferable to standing waters; the more remote, the better. That we tell you this is part of our product.
